The Jackal Group is a fully-financed production studio focused on multiple areas of content production including scripted and unscripted television series designed for network, cable and streaming platforms; feature films; digital productions tailored for emerging OTT and online platforms; as well as commercial theater productions. Media business entrepreneur and producer Gail Berman founded the company and serves as the company's Chairman and CEO.
Berman launched the Jackal Group as a co-venture with Fox Networks Group (FNG), creating a partnership to provide film, television and digital content to distribution entities both within and outside 21st Century Fox. In early 2015, The Jackal Group further expanded its relationship with Fox by entering into a feature film first-look deal with Fox 2000.
The Jackal Group produced The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the highly anticipated television two-hour event set to air on FOX on October 20, 2016, starring Laverne Cox, Victoria Justice, Ryan McCartan, Adam Lambert, and Tim Curry. The Jackal Group has a number of projects in development, including the drama series Mansland, written by Alex Delyle, at USA; comedy Mattress World, written by Jay Lacopo, at FOX; Camelot, written by Dan Frey and Ru Sommer, at FOX; comedy Ridin’ Dirty, written by Allyn Rachel, at FX; drama Love and Murder in the Hamptons, written by Theresa Rebeck, at Lifetime; Horrorstör based on Grady Hendrix’s novel of the same name, written by Josh Schwarz and Mike Vukadinovich; The Immortalists, a cable drama adaptation of award-winning author Chloe Benjamin’s forthcoming novel; Park Row, written by Academy Award® and Golden Globe® nominee Robert Rodat; and the unscripted Group Chat at MTV, among others.
The Jackal Group is currently developing feature films LIVE FAST DIE HOT, with bestselling author Jenny Mollen adapting her book of the same name, and Academy Award winner Anne Hathaway attached to star, at Warner Bros.; TURN OF MIND, a feature adaptation of Alice LaPlante’s thriller novel, with Emmy® winner Gideon Raff attached to direct and Doug Wright penning the script, at Fox 2000; THE ADDAMS FAMILY, an animated film based on the cartoons by Charles Addams, with Pamela Pettler writing the screenplay, at MGM; and THE UNTITLED ELVIS PRESLEY BIOPIC, written by Jeremy Doner, at Warner Bros.
