FX Developing Horse Jockey Comedy From Allyn Rachel & The Jackal Group

FX is developing Ridin’ Dirty, a half-hour comedy centered in the world of horse jockeys, from writer, comedian and actress Allyn Rachel (Couple Time) and Gail Berman’s The Jackal Group.

Written by Rachel, Ridin’ Dirty is centered on Vicky Gursky, the baddest chick in the business, who is determined to become the first woman in history to win the Triple Crown. Jackal Group’s Berman and Joe Earley executive produce alongside Melanie Truhett.

Rachel’s writing credits include the popular web series Couple Time which was developed as a TV series for Fox during the 2014-15 season. She is also a regular performer with the Upright Citizens Brigade. Rachel is repped by CAA, Truhett Garcia Management, and attorney Lev Ginsburg.

The Jackal Group, a joint production venture between Berman and Fox Networks Group, is currently producing Fox’s TV remake of the The Rocky Horror Picture Show, set to premiere October 20 on Fox. In addition, the company is developing drama series Mansland at USA; Mattress World at Fox; Love and Murder in the Hamptons at Lifetime; Horrorstör, based on Grady Hendrix’s novel, which was set up at Fox last season; Park Row, written by Robert Rodat; and the unscripted Group Chat at MTV, among others. On the film side, the company is developing Turn of Mind at Fox 2000, The Addams Family at MGM, and The Untitled Elvis Presley biopic at Warner Bros. The Jackal Group has been under a first-look feature film production deal with Fox 2000 since February 2015.
