The Jackal Group is focused on multiple areas of content production including scripted and unscripted television series designed for network, cable, and streaming platforms; feature films; digital productions tailored for emerging OTT and online platforms; as well as commercial theater productions.
Media business entrepreneur and producer Gail Berman founded the company in 2014 and serves as the company's Chairman and CEO. The Jackal Group is currently in post-production on MONARCH for Fox starring Anna Friel, Susan Sarandon and Trace Adkins. Recently, The Jackal Group produced the Roku series, Royalties, from actor, writer, composer Darren Criss. The musical comedy featured hilarious songs and guest appearances from a variety of celebrities including, John Stamos, Georgia King, Mark Hamill, Lil Rey Howery, Jennifer Coolidge, Sabrina Carpenter, and many more. The Jackal Group also produced the world wide phenomena, Tidying Up with Marie Kondo, for Netflix.
The company has a number of scripted television projects in development at FOX; and a robust slate of series across platforms including Disney+ and Netflix. For Broadway, The Jackal Group is producing a contemporary musical based on the film, The Rose, composed by Glen Ballard. Black Swan is also being adapted as a stage musical with Dave Malloy composing and Rachel Chavkin directing. On the feature side, The Jackal Group produced the sequel to the animated hit film The Addams Family, which hit theaters October 1st 2021. Jackal also produced Elvis from film auteur Baz Luhrmann starring Tom Hanks and Austin Butler which was released June 2022. Additionally, the company is developing I Almost Forgot About You, a feature adaptation of Terry McMillan’s bestselling novel of the same name which will be directed by DeMane Davis for Universal Pictures.
